SANTRO ecoLPG - Bifuel Marvel

Hi all,

It's been a long break i posted blogs and am very happy to see you all in the new mood. Hope! you might think why i am posting about Santro which was more than 10 years old and also there were news spreading that the Santro is soon going to be stopped.

Sorry! my heart refuses to believe that Hyundai will stop this record breaker in India (Hyundai - if you are planning to stop this car. Pls! Pls! throw away your thought) Since this car is the one which inspires not only the older but also the younger minds, due to its lowest maintenance cost and better mileage.

With all the existing features, the car is also fitted with LPG (older news though), I came to know this just a month back (too late!) when i was trying to find a better car for my friend.

On the day, when i saw the car it disturbed me and it was awe inspiring (truly better than i10).

These are all my uttering until i came to know about the all new 2011 Santro.

Ooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh! Hurrah!!!

oops! sorry! am sure that any santro fan will shout like this on hearing the news (irrespective of age).

Well what's going to be new in the 2011 Santro?

Well, it's an all new santro and hence it is also going to have it's all new outlooks. Hey! am not kidding! Hyundai has changed the looks completely.

The car will be more like a Jr. i10, but we'll surely miss the family car's homely look! as well as Gorgeous front face! However the revved up engine and the similar mileage will relax our hearts.

It seems the new car would carry same 1.1 Litre engine with peak output power of 65bhp @5500rpm (previously 63bhp@5500rpm) and max. torque of 105nm@3500rpm (97.8nm@ 3000rpm) and new improved speed of (145Kmph).

Boss! this is not just a decent figure. It's awesome from a 1.1L petrol engine. considering its rivalry Maruti Zen Estilo provides output power of 65bhp@5200rpm(awesome!) but poor torque of 84nm@3500rpm(v.poor!), which makes it fuel efficiency bit lesser than the Santro but not in the speed (150Kmph).

Even its elder sibling i10 having 1.2L engine provides peak output power of 80bhp@5200rpm and torque of 114nm@4000rpm.

Also there is no big change in the price just 15K-20K higher. Obviously at reasonable price again).

Let's welcome the new car! However don't miss the old one's if you are planning to buy the current santro you'll be the luckiest. So don't go for second thought else you'll miss the best santro ever, since a not sure 100% about the new car that is yet to be launched.

Cheers!!!

Beasts are at their best : Pulsar vs Apache

It's a great feast for all bike lovers after the launch of bigger p180 and rtr180 with loads of goodies that excite the riders as well as enthusiast.

Apache at its best with the same chassis, different colored cockpit, but with the most refined engine that apache ever had. Its a good news that apache left its fuel injection and put forth its best without adapting latest technologies.

It is a good news that TVS and Bajaj has learnt that still there is lot to be refined in the carburetted engine rather than scratching up a fuel injected engine. I didn't mean adopting to newer technology is worrying. Without even constructing a clear basement.

Kudos to TVS and Bajaj who wanted it to be true.

Coming to the 180s,

Bajaj has upgraded the engine very well. Withdrawing the p200, bajaj has generosly provided the chassis to p180. Not only the chassis, the engine was also revamped. The maximum output power at 17.01bhp@8500 rpm which makes the bike easier to do highspeeds better than its predecessor, however torque engine has gradually come down. With just 14.22nm@6000rpm is much lesser than predecessor which makes it to have lesser pickups. with 0-60kmph at 4.65 sec claimed by bajaj the bike really struggle to make initially when you've tried older p180.

Apache 180 is the all new wine in a older bag. But the feel and joy of riding is fantastic. With a perfect combination of 17.3bhp as maximum output power and 15.15.5nm@6500rpm maximum torque, this allows the bike to be the best of 180cc bikes. Considering the p180 which provides the 125kmph as claimed by bajaj which is quite difficult for the bike to reach. But when you consider apache, the specification are mostly underspecified cos the bike crosses 120kmph hands down with in just 20 secs which is compared with most of the bikes higher than the most of the bikes in the market including pulsar180.

When it comes to 200m drag which is quite easier for the apache to over perform p180 for sure with the added advantage of lesser weight with apache 137kgs and pulsar with 147kgs. Also the size of the pulsar tires which is much bigger than apache tires suffers the bike to increased contact with the road which makes the bike to be less aggressive than before.

Even when the size, tires, weight are greater than apache still pulsar manages to provide a strong mileage of 47+kmpl even at a higher rate of performance. Where as apache struggles to cross 45kmpl.

But still the best is yet to come for p180. After the success of p135, it is much expected that p150 and p180 to be marching in with the four valve engine.

As always lets expect for the best to come.

Cheers!!!
