Rolls Royce Back to India

Rolls Royce, a dream car of all Indian riches. It was those days where Rolls Royce considered Indian Market as the place for tiny cars. But when the demand for cars grew down all over the world, India alone made a new debut, a sharp increase in the sales of automobiles.

Rolls Royce is now satisfied with the growth of Indian automobile market and hence planning to launch two new models of 2 Rolls Royce into India.

The Currently available models are:
  1. Phantom
  2. Phantom coupe and
  3. Phantom Drop head coupe.
Also the important thing is Phantom drop head coupe is targeted for normal riches and costs just less than 45Lacs.

Gone are the days where Rolls Royce was a dream. Soon I too will get a Rolls Royce Phantom.

Cheers!!!

BMW Bikes in India

It is well known all around the world that BMW will intorduce its ikes where it has already launched cars.

Best example is Netherlands, when the BMW launched the cars in the country, the bike sector of BMW made a study and introduced the bikes that suits them.

The same case now runs in India. BMW is much satisfied with India than expected in the car segment so the plans for Bike segment is also started. The Conceptualization is about to be completed.

It is expected that BMW could launch 600cc bikes in India. other resources also say that BMW is the company which concentrates on success and hence R&D for a cruiser bike with 300cc Engine is being prepared especially for Indian roads.

Whatever may be the product, Indians are ready to welcome BMW bikes into India.

Cheers!!!

Yamaha YZF - R1 - The Real Super Sport Bike

It was 2009 when all over the world turned towards the Indian automobile market. It was such cool and unaffected by the world's recession. So lots of bikes won the hearts of youths all around the world started marching towards India to rock Indian hearts.

The one among the best rocker was Yamaha YZFR1 which has become the dream bike of most of the Indians.

The Bike has the Art-of-Racing YZF series bikes are best in performance in terms of speed and R1 being the leader of all YZF Racing bikes, R1 will be provide the ultimate experience for its rider. The Bike comes under super sports and the bike was the best among the super sports bike up to my knowledge.

The Bike is the most matured model i hope so, since it had 6 major up gradations.(1998(launch), 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2009)

When R1 was first launched it had 20Valves, but now it has 16Valves but the power has risen up and the Power ratio was 12.7:1 which was 12.4:1 previously.

Specifications:
  1. Engine Displacement: 998cc
  2. Engine Type: 4 stroke, DOHC, 16 Valve
  3. Output Power: 180Bhp@12500rpm
  4. Engine Torque: 118.3Bhp@12500rpm
  5. Gear: 6 Speed
  6. Weight: 177Kgs
  7. Fuel Capacity: 18Ltrs
  8. Top Speed: 300Kmph
Pros:
  1. Leader of YZF Bikes
  2. Top speed is very easy to achieve (within 45secs).
  3. Handling and comfort is more satisfactory
Cons:
  1. Too costly (11,50,000.RS)
  2. mileage is too low (8Kmpl- worst mileage and Hayabusa gives the same worst mileage)
The bike was priced at 11,50,000.Rs and the company expects to sell around 500 bikes a year but my friend said that Yamaha customers will have reduced price.

Any how the bike is a Rocking Star in India.

Overall Rating: 9/10

Best 150cc Bike - Pros and Cons of Bikes - Pulsar and CBZ Xtreme

The Pros and Cons part will reveal the final debate on all the Top 6 bikes, that we consider from the beginning.

The pros and cons will be subdivided into 3 parts (i.e., 2 bikes per post).

I hope it will cover possible all Pros as well as cons of the bike.

Pulsar 150 2009:

Pulsar 150 bike is the rocking model of the bajaj from the year 2002. The bike has nearly four Upgrades and hence it is always an evergreen bike available in India.

The Bike has 2 serious upgrades in Engine. The Engine provides a very good 14.01Bhp output power, which is second highest output power from a 150cc Engine. Not only this the bike has a very good torque of 12.76nm@6000rom which is not the best but not like the rest. The new bike design with tank scoops adds looks to the bike.

The main plus point of the pulsar is its furious pick up. The bike is just 129Kgs and hence the torque helps it to reach the best out of the bike very easily. When the bike is at 6000rpm we can see a sharp change in your race, the Pulsar150 really rocks above 6000rpm also. Reaching 85Kmph is not at all a big target for Pulsar but after that the performance of the bike reduces largely.

the Bike is also best to drive at lesser speeds. In the 5th Gear, you can reach from 20Kmph to 80Kmph at just 14.3 seconds, where as other bikes take more than 17seconds to reach 80Kmph in 5th gear.

The sound will be interesting always and at all speeds. you will really shout Wow!!! at the roar of pulsar making you to feel as though you are driving a true sports bike. It will enthuse you to drive more faster. The sound will be like "Drive me more, Lets go!". The Bike has a top speed of 113Kmph second best speed among 150cc engine.

The main draw back in pulsar is the Forks. There is an imbalance in holding the fork of the Bike. The fork in pulsar attached to the Handle bar with the help of a screw which gets loosened because of the forks more telescopic. This causes a slight jerk when the screw was loose which makes the rider to fall immediately. In the 200, 220 and the current 180 pulsars have this problem rectified.

Nothing more to complain about the bike, every thing is good and Pulsar is exactly a Male Bike.

According to me Pulsar is a Strong Companion, who increases your confidence always.

(Over-all Rating: 83%)

CBZ Xtreme ATFT:

CBZ the second 150cc 4 -stroke motorcycle in India, has changed its looks and name into one of the best 150cc bike available now. The bike has good looks and style and designed for taller riders also and new colors and Graphics added recently.

The Bike has the best output power in 150cc segment with 14.4Bhp@8500rpm and excellent torque of engine is 12.8nm@6000rpm which is slightly more than Pulsar 150 anyway. But the Height and Weight plays negatively for the bike. The dry weight which is around 136Kgs and the height of the bike with 18" wheels makes the bike to allow more air to pass through and makes it difficult to drive your bike with utmost power, but still we can reach 125kmph (Speedo-error: Actual 110Kmph ).

The bike has a very good support from the 3rd and 4th Gear where the pickup is at the maximum for these gears.

The bike's sound is very silent and it wont make us to feel that the bike is running at 50-55Kmph. But above 85Kmph the bike shivers but not as bad as pulsar.

The bike's cost is too higher than pulsar 150 but the color and Graphics makes it worthy.

The bike fails to enthuse the rider but the looks enthuse the viewers and makes new fans for the rider.

The mileage tells us the bad news about the engine. The Engine is a well performing drunkard. The small 150 cc engine drinks similar to bigger engines.

According to me, "CBZ Xtreme helps you to make a good show with style"

(Over all Rating: 79%)

That's all for now...

Cheers!!!

Best 150cc Bike - Racing

Racing is the most important aspect why the people choose 150cc bike in India. The Bikes in India are now upgraded and day by day .

Let us consider the top six bikes for this comparison too.

To win the Racing game, what we need in the bike is Pickup and Output power

Pickup is given by Torque. The other factors include bikes aerodynamics and Engine Capacity, etc...

So considering the Torque, 150c bikes are sorted below
  1. Yamaha FZ-S with 13.6nm@6000rpm
  2. Suzuki GS150R with 13.4nm@6000rpm
  3. Apache RTR160 with 13.1nm@6000rpm
  4. Honda Unicorn with 13nm@5500rpm
  5. CBZ Xtreme with 12.8nm@6500rpm
  6. Pulsar 150 with 12.7nm@6500rpm
So considering these features alone is not the way, there is an another factor CC and Output power,

The TVS Apache carrying the highest Cubic capacity (159.7cc) of the Engine and Output power of 15.2Bhp which is the est n class and make it est suited for racing.

The Unicorn fairing a poor output power stands back behind Pulsar and CBZ Xtreme. and the same case applies to Suzuki GS150R.

The Racing Award goes like this,
  1. Apache RTR 160
  2. CBZ Xtreme
  3. Pulsar 150
  4. FZ-S
  5. Suzuki GS150R
  6. Honda Unicorn
Cheers!!!

Suzuki Heat 125 - Suzuki's 100cc Bike

Suzuki Heat 125, was actually introduced by the Suzuki to facilitate the 100cc segment, but the Bike carries a powerful Engine which is exactly the Zeus Engine.

Because of the lack of Aero-Dynamics and low grade design, the bike was priced low and targeted towards the inferior segment.

The Bike has a respectable torqued engine which provides 10nm at a least 3500rpm which is the best in the class better than any 125cc bikes and hence pick up is not a problem.

Specifications:
  1. Displacement: 124cc
  2. Engine Type: 4 Stroke, SOHC
  3. Output Power: 8.83Bhp@7000rpm
  4. Engine Torque: 10.15nm@3500rpm
  5. Fuel Capacity: 12Ltrs
  6. Weight: 120Kgs
  7. Gear: 4 Speed
  8. Top Speed: 96Kmph
Pros:
  1. Best in pickup and Top speed
  2. Very Low maintenance
  3. Cheapest bike in 125cc segment
Cons:
  1. Poor body design
  2. Broader Rear lamp creates ugly looks.
  3. Non Stability of bikes at higher speeds.
Cheers!!!

Platina 125 - Cheapest yet the Best

Bajaj Platina 125 DTS-Si, the new face from Bajaj with the XCD125 Engine is now the recent talk of the town.

With the price tag less than Rs.45000, the bike has the best performance of an 125c bike at the price of an 100cc Bike.

The Bike is an very good alternative for the100cc Bikes, (for e.g.: Hero Honda Passion was sold at 48,000 (without ES)).

The people who prefer the 100cc bikes can easily prefer the better Platina 125. But the thing is you have to sacrifice the Bike's re-sale value.

Also the mileage is the best thing to say about Platina 125cc, it gives a Dazzling 103Kmpl and more at speed level of 50-60Kmph.

Specifications:
  1. Displacement: 124.6cc
  2. Engine Type: 4 Stroke, SOHC, DTS Si(Swirled Induction)
  3. Output Power: 9.45Bhp@7000rpm
  4. Engine Torque: 10.9Bhp@5000rpm
  5. Gear: 5 Speed
  6. Weight: 113Kgs
  7. Fuel Capacity: 13Ltrs
  8. Top Speed: 93Kmph
Pros:
  1. Ultimate Pick-Up better than most of the 150cc bikes
  2. Most fuel-Efficient 125cc bike
  3. Platina Styling and graphics design.
  4. One among the Cheapest 125cc Bikes
Cons:
  1. Light weight, hence difficult to ride on windy roads
  2. Needs good maintenance for Engine longevity
Platina 125cc is targeted only for the 100cc bike segment to provide a better bike at a price equivalent to 100c bikes.

Sure!!! It runs a step ahead on the road as well as in the Performance

Overall Rating: 6.3/10

Cheers!!!

Best 150cc bike in India - Speed and Mileage combination

The Indian bikes are mainly concentrated on Mileage bikes because of the ever increasing fuel price. Only the bikes with good mileage gets success in the Market.

With the Mileage on the other side, the Indian current youth generation concentrate more on the speed. This era created after the Pulsar created a demand for high speed bikes in India and this thirst was not yet satisfied completely.

That is why, I too wanted to compare the mileage and speed of the bikes to know which bike is better, in terms of the better combination of the both.

The First rank for the best mileage goes to Bajaj Pulsar. Pulsar provides a best ever mileage of 62Kmpl, under optimum speed of 55Kmph to 65Kmph and the worst case was 55Kmpl, under speed conditions of above 85Kmph. Pulsar 150 also provides the Top Speed of 115Kmph which get the Fourth Rank for Top Speed.

The Second Rank for the Best mileage will be shared by Honda Unicorn and Suzuki GS150R.

Unicorn provides better mileage as good as pulsar giving 60Kmpl under Optimum speed of 55Kmph to 65Kmph and the worst case for the speed conditions of above 85Kmph was 53Kmpl. Unicorn failed to stand in the Top speed with just Top Speed of 105Kmph stands behind the other 150cc bikes.

Suzuki GS150R provides the same mileage as Unicorn but not constant all the times. The bikes mileage differs even on the slight changes in the rpm of the bike. But the mileage of 59-60Kmpl can be achieved at the Optimum speed of 60Kmph to 70Kmph because of its 6th Gear. Also the Mileage is more than 50Kmpl even at speeds more than 95Kmph. The GS150R lies in a safer position with 120Kmph - second highest speed in 150cc bikes. But i have done 123Kmph with it (not sure about speedometer errors).

The Third Rank for the Best mileage goes to Apace RTR 160 providing a better mileage of 48Kmpl at Optimum speed of 50Kmph to 60Kmph. the worst case is 38Kmpl for the speed conditions of above 75Kmph. The top speed is the most satisfactory and Apache does 120Kmph as the top speed.

The Fourth Rank was occupied by the CBZ Xtreme with an average mileage of 46Kmpl at optimum speed between 55Kmph to 70Kmph(most probably 65Kmph). The Bike does a top speed of 110Kmph. The weight and Height is the negative factor that affect the bike's mileage. The worst case mileage is not too bad with the bike providing 42kmpl fir the speed conditions above 85Kmph.

The Last but not the least, the Fifth position was occupied by the Yamaha FZ-S with an average mileage of 43Kmpl at optimum speed between 50Kmph to 60Kmph. The worst case for the mileage is too bad such that it can provide just 35Kmpl at speed conditions of above 80Kmph. The Top Speed of the bike is ultimate and it does 125Kmph actually but company says 132Kmph( lies!!!), which is occupying the first position.

So the Best Speed and Mileage Award goes to:
  1. Suzuki GS150R - 59Kmpl - 120Kmph
  2. Bajaj Pulsar - 62Kmpl - 113Kmph
  3. Apache RTR160 - 48Kmpl - 120Kmph
  4. Honda Unicorn - 60Kmpl - 105Kmph
  5. Yamaha FZ-S - 43Kmpl - 125Kmph
  6. Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme - 46Kmpl - 110Kmph
Cheers!!!

Bajaj Avenger - Indian Cruiser

Bajaj Avenger (previously Eliminator), was a successful cruiser bike in India. The bike flopped in its previous version Eliminator because of its costlier price.

The bike was aimed at competing with the Indian cruisers - Bullet series of bikes. The Avenger being the smallest of all cruisers in India with an alarming Engine power and torque out performed Bullet series in performance but the longevity of the Engine is an issue still.

Any how the 200cc Engine gives the bike enough support to withstand the Market.

Specifications:
  1. Displacement: 198.8cc
  2. Engine Type: 4 Stroke, SOHC, Oil cooled
  3. Output Power: 17.5Bhp@8000rpm
  4. Engine Torque: 16.8Bhp@6000rpm
  5. Fuel Capacity: 14Ltrs
  6. Gear: 5 Speed
  7. Weight: 152Kgs
  8. Top Speed: 120Kmph
Pros:
  1. Riding position gives ultimate comfort
  2. suitable for long distances
  3. Fuel gauge fits on the Tank
  4. Bullet like wind shield
Cons:
  1. The Shorter bike size makes it difficult for the taller bike riders
  2. The tail lamp is not a better option

Overall Rating: 8.1/10

Best 150cc bike in India - Price Worth Analysis

In the 150cc segment of motor cycles, the price plays the first major role for the sales sector. The people always prefer the most performing bike with the least price.

The Least priced bike in the 150cc segment was Pulsar 150. Even though it is enabled with Digital circuit, the company still keeps its price lesser because of its old engine. The company will raise the price of Pulsar 150 only after the release of Fuel Injected Engine.

The next least priced bike was the Suzuki GS150R. Compared with other 150cc bikes has all the latest features such as Advanced Digital Cockpit, 6-Gears but still priced less along with and less than other four bikes.

The Third least priced 150cc bikes was the CBZ Xtreme, even thought eh engine has not been upgraded only because of the sticker and additional graphics, the bike's price has been increased. followed by Unicorn which has the same added graphics and logo and not the new engine.

Then comes the Apache RTR 160RD and Refresh, completely added power. The new technology of bikes and ultimate styling has been added to the bike. Price looks higher but satisfies customers wholly.

Last but not least, costliest in 150c segment, the FZ-S which cost more than 72K well known for its Brand name Yamaha. A world class motorcylce has the world class price. But the ike fails in terms of worthiness. The price is higher ut the power is not that much higher than the rest.

So the "The Price is Right" award goes to,
  1. Suzuki GS150R
  2. Pulsar 150 DTSi
  3. Apache RTR 160RD
Thats all for the price!!!

Cheers!!!

Best 150cc bike in India - Comparative analysis

Best 150cc Bike in India (Entry level Sports bike)

I would like to consider the 150cc Bikes only in entry level. So I wont be including R15 in this range since it is an absolute Sports bike.

Now in India we have 6 Major 150cc Branded Bikes they are:
  1. Bajaj Pulsar 150
  2. HeroHonda CBZ XTreme
  3. Honda Unicorn
  4. TVS Apache RTR 160 RD
  5. Suzuki GS150R
  6. Yamaha FZ-S
I have considered only the leading models so i neglected Hunk and Discover150. RTR 160Fi goes a bit higher than the 150cc price and so i have not included it too.

I would like to analyze the best bike on each and every aspects that a bike should be in my following post of Best 150cc bike.

TVS Victor GX - More Smiles More Miles

TVS Victor was the first 110cc 4 Stroke bike launched in India. The period was when the thirst for both speed and economy are expected from the bikes. Victor was at a step above and wanted to step a head of 100cc bikes. So it announced Victor 110cc bike at the price of 100cc bikes.

Victor GL, GX are the brands which rocked the 100cc segment until the entry of Discover 110cc a bit better than Victor.

Even now the users of Victor GL and GX have their bikes brand new but we cant see an discover 110cc at least in better condition. The bike has better combination of Speed, economy, Durability and requires very less maintenance charges.

When it comes to the Top speed Victor over takes most of the 125cc bikes, with 98Kmph (discover 110cc 93Kmph) which is not prevailing among most of the 100c bikes, also it takes just 23 seconds to reach the topspeed.
(Note: it takes 35 Seconds for a passion to reach 88Kmph(speedo reading 95Kmph))

This made Victor to have a better position in the Two wheeler market, but due to the ignorane of the indian cutomers who doesnot know to classify bikes based on performance, just chose bikes by the advertisements.

This made the great engine to perish, even the Star Sports which is rocking now in 100c segment is nothing but the Great Victor Engine with minor modifications.

Specifications:
  1. Displacement: 109cc
  2. Engine Type: 4-Stroke, SOHC
  3. Output Power: 8.2Bhp@7250rpm
  4. Engine Torque: 8.1nm@5500rpm
  5. Fuel Capacity: 13Ltrs
  6. Gear: 4 -Speed
  7. Weight: 118Kgs
  8. Top Speed: 98Kmph
at least now the India knew about the TVS and very happy to see this sudden change of preferring the best rather than preferring the most flashy.

Cheers!!!

Honda Jazz - A new Flavour to India

Honda has made all its plan to launch Jazz in India. The Car is going to be launched on June-10th 2009.

The Car will be the variant that matches hatch back and Luxury version of cars in India. Honda Jazz has already won many titles in more than 130 countries.

Best car of the Japan, Australia, UK and now it is has come to rule its name in India.

The car features a small engine which is best in class available in India with Fuel efficiency as well as the Speed factor.

May be it is the starting stage for Honda with its Hatch back in India but not for the world. So their expertise can be felt in Hatch back too.

Specification:
  1. Engine Displacement: 1198cc
  2. Engine Type:1.2L i-Vtec, four Cylinder
  3. Output Power: 90Bhp@5200rpm
  4. Engine Torque: 110nm@4800rpm
  5. Fuel Efficiency: 16.1Kmpl
The Car has also got 5 stars for the Euro N-Cap rating, it mentions that it is the most safest car. Click here to see the crash test.

The car is also pried across a wide range form 5.75Lacs to 7.5Lacs

The car is much better than the Hatch back leader - Hyundai i20. and so Jazz will surely hit the market with big sales.

The Launch is on 10th June 2009, book now for a test ride.

Cheers!!!

Bullet 500 ES - The 100% Original Indian Bike

Bullet 500 was the India's fastest bike after the 4-Stroke bikes started the mileage era. Only 100cc bikes was there in the market and had profitable sales. Apart from that only the Royal Enfield Bullet was with standing with it huge Engines. People buy it for pride and express others their wealth.

Initially diesel variant of Bullet has also come but due to the extra ordinary vibration and sound the bike flopped. Even though the bike company slowly gained and it again had its sales after 2000.

During the early 2000 ad 2001, Fiero, CBZ and Pulsar arched towards the higher end bikes(there was no 150cc-4stroke at that time in India).

The Monster Bullet 500, which was manufactured from 1961 with a top speed of 130Kmph, still keeps its standard and was the same until today. It has also negative factors but it gives the chance for us to drive our Grandpa's bike with the new body.

Believe me!!! when you drive this bike you'll feel like dreaming. Others feel you are a tough guy, but the Bike is utmost smooth when you cross 3000rpm.

Every Indian bike has a draw back that it cannot travel more than 100Kms at a stretch due to its smaller size. But with the Bullet you can travel more than 500kms at a stretch. (e.g: Having trip from Mumbai to Pune six times with out taking rest or from Chennai to Kanniyakumari or traveling from Kolkata to Patna.

Whatever be the route I feel that you can trust the Royal Enfield better than the est bikes in India.

Specifications:
  1. Displacement: 500cc
  2. Engine type: 4- Stroke, SOHC
  3. Output Power: 17.7Bhp@5250rpm
  4. Engine Torque: 41nm@3000rpm
  5. Fuel Capacity: 15Ltrs
  6. Gear: 5 Speed
  7. Weight: 175Kgs
  8. Top Speed: 134Kmph
  9. Price: Rs.115,800
Pros:
  1. Symbol of Heritage for Indian Bikes
  2. Only bike to have a 500cc engine at present in India.
  3. Great Riding comfort
  4. Excellent for Long trips
Cons:
  1. Still the Same old Engine, body style is followed from 1961
  2. Minor Quality issues are still there, only up to first service, then you cant stop respecting it.
  3. Poor mileage(<35kmpl)
Even though the bike has poor mileage, its worthy to get the bike to have your own pride and Enjoy the feeling of a Hero riding on an Elephant.

What is Life if you have not driven Bullet 500 at least once.

come on!!! get your bike!!! not for race but for Pride!!!

Cheers!!!

Bajaj - Renault: The new Lite concept

Bajaj India's second largest two wheelers manufacturer has planned to enter into Four wheeler market too. For the same Bajaj wanted to compete with Tata's Nano, so it made an collaboration with Renault-Nissan to manufacture a car that should e priced as low as Nano, but that should be the most fuel efficient car of the world.

Renault-Nissan are the world's famous car manufacturers excel in creating world's best car engines. So it is sure that the car will have better performance. Also the Bajaj who concentrates more on mileage will ensure about its mileage.

So what do we need more than this???

A combination of performance and Fuel efficiency will be the success story of the small, cheapest car of the world.

Cheers!!!
